20 year old temporary insurance to drive car home

Trying to get temporary insurance for a 20 yr old buying a car Astra 2.0L VXR just to drive it home. Any ideas who would cover this? Drive a company car but don't have my own insurance.

Thanks

Dave,

Age is a discriminating factor when it comes down to temporary insurance unfortunately. As you are 20 years old, you will not be able to get this sort if insurance cover as the minimum age insurers will quote for is 21. Therefore is it better if you get somebody else to drive the car home for you. People with comprehensive policies are sometimes insured to drive other cars with Third party only cover (this needs to be checked in the policy documents first). So you can either do that or insure somebody else (21+ with at least 1 year driving experience) for a day to get your car home.

It would seem that even if you're 21, you still can't do it! They all say you have to be 23.

Lee,

Quite correct. There are only 2-3 companies who will insure 21 year olds; the others will only insure age 23+.
