22 year old driver short term insurance in EU on US drivers license

Hello everybody, I'm hoping someone can help me out with a thorny short-term insurance question. I'm participating in a charity rally this summer, driving from Spain to Mongolia. I have yet to purchase a vehicle, but am looking into short term insurance that would cover me at least for the EU part of the trip. I haven't found any companies that have been able to deal with the following however:

1) I am 22 years old

2) I hold a US driver's license

Does anybody know of a way I might be able to purchase coverage? I would appreciate any insights you may have. Thanks in advance, Christian

Insurers will run a mile as soon as they find out that you're 22 and looking for insurance for doing rally! Temporary car insurance is a risky business and insuring young drivers is even more risky. I'm not trying to discourage you but what you're looking for involves too many risks that car insurance companies are not willing to take.

Here the complete list of short term car insurers to help you out though; if you haven't approached one of these guys, then please do so.
