Can I drive another car with my current insurance?

Am I insured to drive somebody's else car with my own insurance? Or do I need to be a named driver for that car to be able to use it?

If you have comprehensive insurance cover, there's a high chance that you can drive another car with Third Party Only cover. However you still need the consent of the car owner before you drive it. Check your insurance policy documents and it should say something around the lines of "you are allowed to drive another car with third party only cover" and if you can't find some text similar to that, then you will need to get appropriate insurance before driving the other car.

If you have Third Party, Fire & Theft cover, chances are that you are not insured to drive another car but there's no harm in checking your policy details to know for sure.
