Can I get my licence back early for 15 months dangerous driving ban

I was banned for a total of 15 months. I've done 9 months for dangerous driving. I heard I can go back to court and ask if I can resit my test early resulting in me having my licence early.

Francis,

Normally for driving bans less than 2 years, you cannot get your licence any earlier than the ban term. However if you have been referred to do a drink rehabilitation course, then you would be able to get it early. If you feel you can get it earlier by going to court and asking for it, then you might as well try.

Apparently for dangerous driving offences you have to sit out the full term of the ban regardless of how long it is, then as you rightly point out re-sit the extended retest before being allowed back on the road.
