Changing location of where car is kept reduces car insurance premiums

I am finding that the location significantly changes the price of insurance. If I insure using my London home address, I am being shown a minimum of around £1000 to insure a small car not even worth that amount, whereas if I use my parents (my old home) address in Devon, it will be less than half that amount - around £450. Crazy.

London is an expensive zone to live in and that's reflected in the premiums. Factors like crime rate, accident statistics, bad neighbourhood, education level of people living in the area all contribute to how much you end up paying for your car insurance premiums.
