Cheap insurance for car to learn driving in for provisional driver

Hi, I'm 42 years and I have a provisional driving licence now. I want learn to drive in my own car but my friend can be the first driver and I the second driver to insure cheaply? Can you give me some advice? Please, thank you.

If you're learning to drive, then it's best if you get short term provisional insurance rather than committing to a full year's insurance. You can do what you said as well but it's going to be more expensive. With learner insurance, you can purchase it for doing your private driving practice with your friend. When you pass your driving test, then you can shop around for a better insurance deal.
