Cheapest way to insure learner for extra lessons

Hi I'm buying my daughter her first car. She has a provisional licence and I intend to take her out for extra lessons in it. I need to know what's the best way to insure the vehicle? In my name with her as an additional driver or in her name with me as an additional driver? Which would be he cheaper option till she passes her test?

The cheapest way to insure a learner is to get short term learner insurance in my opinion. It starts with a 4 week initial insurance cover period but if you need additional cover, you can extend it a week at a time. This would enable your daughter to get the driving practice she requires with you by her side. The good thing about this kind of policy is that it is held in the learner's name, so any claims that your daughter makes would not affect your no claims discount at all. It costs around £100 for 4 weeks.

When she's done learning, she can then look for her own insurance. For more information on this type of insurance, please follow the link above.
