Cost of fixing handbrake on Hyundai Coupe

My car is due an MOT in a few weeks, but the car won't hold on even on a slight hill, which I'm assuming will be a fail. Do you know how much this will cost to fix?

Thanks

David,

If your handbrake is not working properly, then it will be a problem to pass the MOT but most importantly it could be a safety issue for yourself. Therefore it is in your own interest to get it sorted soon as possible. You can expect to pay something around £30 for the labour and the handbrake cables cost around £15. However you may not need completely new handbrakes as your old one might just be loose and with some adjustment can work properly again.
