Do I need to wait three years for pco licence after a ban?

I have recently finished my ban and used to be a mini cab driver. I have just passed my theory and am about to take an extended practical test. Will I still need to wait three years for pco licence after the ban?

Yes you would need to wait 3 years to get a Private Hire Driver (PHD) licence because your previous driving licence has been suspended now and you are starting afresh. When you have passed your extended driving test, the new licence will be issued with your previous conviction (unless of course the penalty points have expired) and you would need to declare this on the application form to the Public Carriage Office (PCO).

This is taken among the criteria for becoming a private hire driver but you can confirm the information by calling up the PCO and enquiring to be double sure.
