Does a learner driver need insurance on the full licence drivers car if he is fully insured?

I'm looking to go out with my dad just for him to show me how to get going. I've never been in a car, he was going to take me on a big open space like an empty car park just to let me move it if i dare to as I have never been in the driver side of a car to see if I can but I'm not a named driver and don't have insurance myself but he is fully comp help please.

If you sit in the driver's seat, you will both a licence (full or provisional) and adequate insurance. Car parks are normally public and it is an offence to drive on public roads without insurance or licence. Your dad's fully comp insurance covers him only and not you.

If you're serious about learning to drive, then do it properly; get your provisional first and then look for learner driver insurance.
