Driving on provisional insurance

What happens if the provisional holder is insured but the qualified driver is not? Who's in trouble? Who gets done?

Kevin,

If you have purchased provisional insurance, then you are insured to drive the car on which you have cover when accompanied by someone over 21 who holds a full driving licence for over 3 years. The person who is teaching you need to have a valid driving licence, that is, he must not have been disqualified or banned from driving when he is supervising you.

As far as your question goes, no one will be in any trouble whatsoever if you have adequate insurance as a provisional driver and the person supervising you meets the requirements mentioned above. This is assuming that it's private driving practice which means that the supervisor does not require to be insured but the learner driver must have appropriate car insurance cover.

I am learning to drive in my husband's automatic car and have provisional insurance cover. When I go for my test, and pass, will i be able to drive home after it even though I'm still insured as a learner driver?
