Having to pay extra because I'm not registered keeper

I agreed to a car insurance quote which was accepted and all papers have been received. Nearly a month later the company want me to pay an extra £98 as I am not the registered keeper, although this information was totally clear at the outset when I was quoted and they accepted the information. They now want me to change my details I gave on the quote information and charge me an extra £98. Surely this is wrong in contract law if nothing else. Anybody come across this before.

This is definitely wrong. I'm curious to know whether it states that you're not the registered keeper on the car insurance policy documents you received from them. In the affirmative, you shouldn't have to change your details as it is proof that you gave all the correct details regarding yourself and the vehicle. The insurance company will not stand a chance to force you to pay the additional fee they're looking to get from you. However if that part of the data is not present on the policy, then it would make it a little bit harder to prove you already told the insurer that you were not the registered keeper.
