How long does drink driving conviction stay on your licence?

Is the conviction with you for life?

Victoria,

A drink driving conviction will stay on your licence for 11 years from the date of conviction. The endorsement will be found on the driving licence's counterpart (the green bit that accompanies your photocard licence). If you're worried that drink driving insurance premiums will be substantially high, then it is worth noting that most insurance companies ask for motoring convictions for the past 5 years which means that after this period of time (say 6 years from date of conviction), you do not need to disclose your drink driving conviction to the insurer - well unless of course they ask for it explicitly.
