How to get your licence back before your driving ban ends?

I was wondering if i can get my driving licence back early, I am currently on a 3 year ban and live in Scotland.

Robert,

There are two factors which determine whether you can get your driving licence early following a drink driving ban. The 1st one is whether you have completed a drink driving rehabilitation course which can reduce your ban by upto a quarter of its term and the 2nd one is how long you have been banned for.

In your case, because you've been banned for 3 years, you will need to wait for a minimum of 2 years before you can apply to get your licence back. If the 2 year period has not elapsed yet, you will have to wait before you can make any such request.

Hi, I have been banned several times for driving whilst disqualified but the longest and the last one was 10 years. It has been 6 years now since my last driving conviction and I am now a full time carer for my mentally challenged uncle who also has aultzimers. When if at all would I be eligible to apply and who do I apply to? Is it the court or who? I don't have a clue but I need my license now. I will also be required to resit my test. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Steven,

In your case it seems your licence has been revoked and you will need to wait until your ban expires before you can start the process again, that is, apply for a provional licence and do the driving test again before you can get your licence to drive again. Please check with the DVLA by calling them on their general enquiry number to be double sure though.

i got a driving ban 3 and a half years ago for death by dangerous driving, could i apply to get this licence back yet or do i have to wait the full 5 year, it is impacting on my current job
