I have no insurance can I drive another persons car if it has full comprehensive insurance

I have been asked to drive friends car to leeds to pick him up.

No you can't. If you do not have any car insurance cover of your own, you are not insured. On fully comprehensive policies, usually there's a clause which allows the driver(s) named on the policy to drive another car with the owner's permission on a third party basis. However not all comprehensive policies have this feature. In your situation, you are not covered by any insurance policy, therefore you cannot drive any car.
