Learner insurance for 17 year old with own car

Hello

I'm looking to buy my son who is 17 his own car to learn in via my help/instruction. I intend to register the vehicle under my son's name - will it still be possible to insure him for his own vehicle whilst having a provisional licence but being under my supervision untill he passes his test? Your earliest contact/advice would be appreciated prefably via phone please

Sincere thanks, Bobby

Bobby,

Of course you can insure your son with just a provisional licence. If you get Collingwood Learner Driver Insurance, your son will be able to drive the car under your supervision without any problems. Since this is a special type of learner insurance which is specifically designed for learner drivers, you can rest assured that your no claims discount (NCD) will not be affected should you have to make any claims on the car insurance policy because the policy will be in your son's name. The initial period of cover is for a month and after that you can renew it on a week by week basis until your son passes his driving test.
