Named driver discount for Directline

I did this through directline as a named driver. It isn't equivalent to a normal year no claims, they tried to sting me with that expired thingy but I got it just in time, you need to start a policy within 90 days I think before it runs out. I probably wouldn't do the same again, directline line don't even allow you to put the named driver no claim discount in an online quote, so you have to ring them for a quote which can be a pain. If you can afford it, get your own policy.

Before signing up to a new insurer you should always read the policy and small print. By not doing so when its time to renew you will get stung like you have mentioned. Always shop around and before purchasing call them up and have a thorough talk to ensure you know what is and what isn't covered
