Provisional drivers licence and insurance

Hi, my son's girlfriend, who is 25 yrs old has had a provisional driving licence for 8 years now. To let her drive in my car or my son's car, does she need to be insured? What is the cheapest way to do this?

She will have to be insured to drive either your car or your son's as this is a legal requirement. The cheapest way to do this is through learner driver insurance which is bought on a weekly basis after an initial period of 4 weeks. So the minimum you're looking at is getting her insured for at least a month which is going to cost around £100. Please follow the link above for more information on the provisional car insurance policy.
