Re apply for licence after 4 years driving disqualification

Hi

Just a quick one for you, I was banned close to three years ago for four years for drink driving. I read the article on how you can apply for it to be lifted after being banned for two years. How do I do this and is there any advice or help out there that would be benneficial to me?

Kind regards,
Alan Hole

Alan,

Yes, for a driving ban of 4 years, you can request for your driving licence to be returned after two years under Section 42 of Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988. You will need to contact the court which sentenced you and will have to pay court fees as well as have a solicitor/lawyer represent you for them to consider giving your licence earlier. You will need to have a valid reason for your application to be successful, otherwise you will be wasting your money. If you need further help, you can always contact a motoring lawyer/solicitor for professional advice and help to get your licence back.
