Registering a British car in Portugal

I am British and use a British car for part of the year in Portugal. I want to be able to drive it long term in Portugal. I have been quoted a cost of 6700.00 euros to change over the registration. Is there a cheaper way to do this legally?

As a EU citizen, you can drive a British car in Portugal as long you keep an address in the UK and you don`t permanently moved to there. I hope that I can help you with this answer. Best regards, ARTUR MOREIRA
