Mitch,

Currently there are no insurers which will give you 1 day car insurance on a provisional licence. You can however get insurance cover for a minimum of 28 days with your provisional licence.

I suppose you will be taking your family car to do your driving test, right? The cheapest alternative to getting insurance just for that day is to go with a private driving instructor and use his car for your test. You might be asked to have at least 1 lesson with him though but I believe it would work out cheaper anyway.

Layla,

There are no insurers who will insure you just for one day on a provisional licence I'm afraid. You can get insurance cover for a minimum of 4 weeks while being a provisional driver but for 1 day you're looking for a needle in a haystack.
