Will being on a methadone prescription affect my chances of getting my license back after drink driving?

Will being on a methadone prescription affect my chances of getting my license back? I lost my licence for drink driving. Am on a prescription and am due to apply for a renewal of my licence.

Methadone can be detected in urine but if that's been prescribed by your GP, then this would be taken into consideration when evaluating your application for getting back your driving licence. The DVLA will make enquiries to your GP and if your doctor thinks that you are not fit to drive and do not have any alcohol-related problems, then you should get your licence. If you're concerned about your licence renewal, the best thing to do is to get in touch with your GP to discuss it and clear your doubts.
